Look for a named instructor, a start-of-class ritual, and a plan for the first two weeks. Master Joe Whitworth's school uses taekwondo structure: bow-in, listening, basic technique, then more kicking and forms as the child is ready. Compare that against a rec night with no belt path.
Class can help a child practice waiting, eyes-on-instructor, and finishing a drill. It is not medical treatment and it is not a promise that behavior at home will change in a week. The trial exists so you can watch the first classes yourself.
