A few ways we give back to our community

Our dream is to make martial arts synonymous with improving the community one neighborhood at a time. By giving back to the community we live in, we teach our kids by example to "Always give more than you take."

Break-A-Thon

Much like a walk-a-thon, students solicit funds from family and friends with per-board donations or a fixed amount. At the actual event the kids use their martial arts kicks to break as many boards as they can in a set amount of time. Every dollar raised is then donated to CISR. Our Breakathon was featured in MA Success Magazine.

XTREME TAE KWON DO

Xtreme is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to the competitive aspect of Tae Kwon Do as a sport. The team trains together and supports each other at tournaments, travels across the country, and even the world, advancing their skills and developing their competitive spirit. Members of Xtreme learn discipline, hard work, nutrition and health as competitive athletes, and what it means to be on a team.

Christmas Giving Tree

With our Christmas Giving Tree, students and parents decorate a Christmas tree in our lobby and bring in unwrapped toys for underprivileged children. At the christmas party, a volunteer picks up the toys and distributes them to kids who might otherwise have a very bleak holiday.

Teaching PE in local schools

For more than five years, we have volunteered time to go into local public and private elementary schools and teach Tae Kwon Do during PE class. Every year we help more than 6,000 students develop their focus and self-control by practicing the three rules of concentration: “Focus your eyes, focus your mind, and focus your body.” This high-energy cardio program coupled with our top notch anti-bullying campaign helps keep kids fit and safe.

CISR

Our Renton location works together to raise money to benefit Communities in Schools of Renton (CISR). CISR is a non-profit organization that has served Renton public school students and their families, free of charge, since 1994. They provide everything from school supplies to food and mentoring--whatever is necessary for students to succeed in school. To date, we've raised and donated more than $57,000 to CISR.

My dojang has taught me so much more than Tae Kwon Do. I learned discipline, respect, honesty, and how to teach. I love Tae Kwon Do!
